Leesville 1 vs. Green Hope 4
Green Hope traveled to Leesville Road to face one of the top teams of the Cap 7. Green Hope capitalized early as
Justin Smith scored on an assist by Kyle Bandy. Martin Murphy scored next from an assist by Jared Dapkevich and to
make it 3-0, Kyle Bandy won the ball in midfield and alertly shot over the head of the goalkeeper who was retreating
from a challenge just outside of his box.
Leesville Road scored a goal just before the half off a deflection during a scrum in the Green Hope penalty area.
In the second half, Magnus Sorenson scored with less than three minutes to go with a screamer to the upper left of
the goal from just outside the right side of the penalty area.
Final score 4-1 in Green Hope's favor.
Green Hope wraps up a tiring week Friday at 7 PM at the Brittany Willis Memorial Tournament in Wilson, NC against Watauga (Boone, NC).

On June 28, 2004, Brittany Willis, a beautiful, bright, promising young woman was enjoying an uneventful summer
afternoon returning a high school graduation present at a gift shop in Wilson, NC. Her life was suddenly and tragically
cut short as she became a victim of horrific, random violence. This daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend was a
treasure, and her memory will forever be a part of the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Throughout her life, beginning with the Wilson Recreation Soccer program, Brittany played and cherished the game of
soccer. She was an All Conference player her junior and senior year of high school, and enjoyed the honor of being the
Captain of the Hunt High School Warriors during her senior year. Her love of team sports led her to the volleyball court,
where she was honored as Best All Around, and to compete on the cross-country team, where she earned the Sportsmanship Award
while she represented the Warriors.
An intelligent and honorable student, Brittany enjoyed the distinction of being identified as an All Academic Athlete
every year of her high school career. She was a member of the National Honor Society, was a Key club officer, sang in the
school chorus, was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Student Government Association, and was the Pepsi Scholar
Athlete each year while at Hunt High School.
Brittany attended First United Methodist Church and was active in their youth program. She generously gave of herself and
her time as a volunteer at the Wesley Shelter, a homeless shelter for women and children, and a shelter for women of domestic violence.
