Green Hope 2 vs. Watauga 0
Green Hope traveled to Wilson, NC to play Watauga at the Brittany Willis Memorial Tournament.
Green Hope got a much needed goal from Ryan McDonnell when he deftly swerved a corner kick into the net. The half ended 1-0.
In the second half, Klye Bandy made an assist as he swerved the ball to an open Martin Murphy who knocked it in for a 2-0
lead. The Falcons held onto the lead and the game ended 2-0.
Of note, Green Hope has 10 goals in 3 games while only conceding 1. The defense of Ryan Steele, Nick Butterly,
Zach Steele (the games sportsmanship winner) and Jared Dapkevich, coupled with the fine play of goalkeeper Alex Long has
made it difficult for opponents to score.
The Falcons ended a tiring 3 game week and look forward to the start of school Monday and traveling to Durham to play Jordan.
