Lee County - Wednesday, September 26 - Away

Today is

Lee County 0 vs. Green Hope 1

Green Hope traveled to Lee County for a rare second game in two days. The Falcons were coming off one of their best performances of the year the night before and were hoping to keep the train rolling right on down the track.

Green Hope started the game and everything just seemed to be a bit "off". Passes were not crisp, nor accurate; shots were off target or meekly straight to the keeper; defense was caught in some bad positions; and the team spirit was not what it has been.

The half ended 0-0, but Green Hope had 14 shots in the first half and 4 corners to Lee County's 2 shots and 0 corners.

Green Hope discussed some options at half time to improve their play the team agreed as a unit to increase their effort. The results were evident as the team really pressed hard to get some goals. In the second half, GH has 18 shots and 8 corners (Lee County had 0 shots and 0 corners), but still could not score. In the waning moments, Stephen Clowes found an open Martin Murphy and Martin ended a night of frustration by getting the game winner. 1-0. The game ended within a minute of Martin's heroics.

The team gets ready for Athens Drive at home next Monday night.
