Green Hope traveled to its close neighbor Panther Creek High School Monday night. Panther Creek has only been open 2 years and does not have a senior class this year.

Following the results in the Tri-8 conference last week, Green Hope has a chance to win the Tri-8 conference should they win the remaining games on their schedule. The Falcons have not won the conference since 2002.

Green Hope opened the game quickly and with urgency. A cross was played into the Panther Creek penalty box and Stephen Clowes towered above the Panther Creek defense to pound a header home for a 1-0 lead. Next, Magnus Sorensen scored a wonderful finish after Kyle Bandy served a great ball from the right side. 2-0.

The half ended with a superb volley from Justin Taylor for the 3-0 lead.

In the second half, Green Hope had more scoring opportunities, but only scored one more as Magnus Sorensen got one for the 4-0 lead.

The defense garnered another shut out and the midfield play was superb as they maintained possession, played dangerous penetrating balls and provided pressure on Panther Creek. In goal, Alex Long was superb with fantastic presence, spot-on saves and excellent distribution.

The Falcons face Apex on the road Wednesday for a battle of the conference lead.
