| Green Hope 3 vs Cary 1
Green Hope hosted Cary and the Falcons completed the 2 game sweep for the season against the Imps by winning 3-1.
The first goal of the night was by Magus Sorensen. Kyle Bandy played a lofted ball over the central Cary defender and Magnus was already in an open position. Magnus chased it down and lofted it over the Cary goalkeeper for the 1-0 lead.
Justin Smith, having one of his better matches of the year, received a nice cross from Magnus on the right side of the box and Justin coolly knocked the ball in for the 2-0 lead. Then, Magnus got another assist as he fed Stephen Clowes for the third goal.
Cary came back and served a deep ball into the right winger. Cary's winger outraced the Green Hope defender and beat Alex Long for;their lone goal of the night.
Green Hope had several chances to score in the second half, but it was not to be. Cary put a lot of pressure on near the end and hit the cross bar, but could not score. The final was 3-1. |
